Apply For RTÉ Toy Show Appeal Funding

Groups working with children and families are being invited to apply for support from money raised during the RTÉ Toy Show Appeal.

Community Foundation Ireland, which is distributing the funds raised from the generosity of viewers, is inviting groups to make applications in three areas:

• Addressing Essential Needs
• Improving Health and Wellbeing
• Creativity and Play

Community Grants of up to €20,000 will be made available. Impact Grants for larger groups are to a maximum of €50,000. Organisations at a transformational moment in their development can seek funding of up to €150,000.

Viewers of the Toy Show donated over €4.5 Million during and in the days following the broadcast.

Announcing the opening of applications, Denise Charlton, Chief Executive of the Community Foundation said:

“Turning the generosity of viewers into action and support for children and families is a huge honour and responsibility. At the Community Foundation we use our 25-years of expertise in philanthropic grant-making to ensure money is delivered to where it can have the biggest impact.

Each year more than one million children and their families benefit from the appeal. Viewers can be assured that their gift no matter what size will transform young lives in their local area.

The best part of my job is that I get to see that impact sometimes at first hand but also in the stories and reports that come back to us. The Toy Show Appeal has since 2020 ensured that the magic of a special and uniquely Irish night of television continues all year round.”
