Energia Crossmore Community Fund

The Energia Community Fund is open for applications on Monday, 21st September and will close on Friday, 16th October at 5pm. Please note that your organisation must first be registered on our Portal before an application can be started, so be sure to allow enough time to complete both the registration and application processes, as both may take a few days.

In spring 2026, a community consultation was carried out on behalf of Energia. This involved visits to the area around the Crossmore wind farm, face-to-face and phone interviews with community groups and volunteers, as well as an online survey. Some common community needs and hopes emerged, and the following will represent the priority areas for 2026:

Contributing to community infrastructure such as centres, halls, indoor or outdoor meeting spaces or play areas; introduction of long-lasting, tangible community assets
Projects that support families and young people to live in the area (e.g. co-working spaces, afterschool facilities, school improvements, youth groups)
Projects reducing isolation for older people (e.g. a community car, Men’s Shed)
Renewable energy and environmental sustainability (Community Benefit Funds are designed, in part, to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals)

Energia Crossmore Community Fund:

Projects must take place within 8km of the centre of the Crossmore wind farm, which includes the following communities: Cranny/Coolmeen, Kilmurry McMahon and Kilmihil. In a competitive fund, priority may be given to those within 5km. Eligible organisations can apply through one of two strands depending on their size, as follows. Only one application per organisation will be accepted.

Grants of up to €5,000 are available.

Organisations can apply for a minimum of €1,000 and up to a maximum of €5,000 (though no more than 50% of your previous year’s income).
