Want to start a Community Garden?

20 June 2011 | In News

Do you want to start a community garden or allotments project in Dublin? The Community Growers fund invites applications from groups in Dublin city and county who can engage unemployed people in a new or existing community garden project.

Grants in the region of €1,000 to €10,000 will be available to successful applicants. Priority will be given to groups involving unemployed people, using a community space. Consideration will be given to existing community gardens or allotments as well as completely new ones. There will be a requirement to demonstrate that permission has been secured to use the land for the designated purpose, and groups will also need to show that they have a committee structure in place. Site visits will be carried out to assess the suitability of shortlisted projects. Some limited support will be available to successful groups from The Foundation's gardening expert.

The Grants Team can be contacted to answer any queries you may have regarding this fund.
