End of Year Donations

The last few weeks of the year brings a significant increase in the level of charitable giving. In part inspired by the spirit of Christmas, the end of tax year also has a part to play. In December 2010 The Community Foundation received €600k in contributions, both for onward distribution to other charities and to establish new endowments. The following questions help explain when and how The Community Foundation can be relevant:

1. Are you or a client in a position to make a lump-sum end of year charitable donation?
2. Do you want to support your community in a meaningful way?
3. Do you need some guidance and help in the dispersal of the monies, for example we can find large, small, local, national, overseas charities... We can find great projects and help with due diligence and subsequent feedback.
4. Would you like to give now and make the grants from your donation later?
5. Would a single charity receipt be more efficient for you?
6. Do you think you could achieve ‘greater bang for the buck’ from your giving?
7. Christmas is all about family and setting up a family fund is surely one of the greatest gifts you could ever give your family. Would you like to know more about this option?
