Cumbria Community Foundation launches Memorial Fund

The Cumbria Community Memorial Fund has been created to support the people and communities affected by the shootings of 2 June 2010.

It is in response to the needs arising from the shootings and the public's wish to demonstrate its sympathy and support for those affected.  

The fund has been opened with the support of the members of the Cumbria Recovery Coordination Group.

It will be managed on behalf of partners by the Cumbria Community Foundation. A committee of the Foundation involving trustees and community representatives will oversee distribution of the funds. The committee will meet for the first time next week. How funds will be distributed will be agreed following discussions with the affected families and the local community. It is a broad based charitable fund.
