ShareGift awards €80,000 to charities in Ireland

ShareGift, a Donor Advised Fund holder at The Community Foundation for Ireland has provided another round of grants for Irish charities. ShareGift is a company based in the UK that provides a charitable solution to businesses to alleviate the problem of small shareholdings. Shares are transferred to ShareGift, aggregated and sold to benefit various charities. The result is a significant funding stream for the charitable sector. Since ShareGift was set up in 1996, over £25 million has been donated to more than 2,500 charities in the UK.

ShareGift has been working with The Community Foundation for Ireland since 2016 and has provided over €270,000 in grants to Irish charities including ISPCA, Irish Cancer Society, Youth Work Ireland and Special Olympics Ireland. The Community Foundation for Ireland deals with the administrative burden of grant making on behalf of ShareGift, ensuring the highest standards of governance.  

The Community Foundation for Ireland has joined forces with many charitable trusts and other philanthropic foundations to provide larger funding streams to Irish charities to create tangible impact.
