The Community Foundation for Ireland is a national organisation with an expertise in distributing funds to communities. This Friday is National Pyjama Day and we are delighted to be supporting Early Childhood Ireland. Our role is to ensure that the funds which are raised are allocated in a transparent way and within a commitment to the highest standards of governance.
Now in its 14th year, National Pyjama Day, which is organised by Early Childhood Ireland, has already raised over €2.5 million for children’s charities in Ireland and this year 55,000 children from 1,200 creches and preschools nationwide have already signed up for National Pyjama Day. On Friday the children are sponsored to wear their pyjamas into creche and pre-school to raise money for three children’s charities, each supporting children under 6 years of age with additional needs. We are supporting Early Childhood Ireland in selecting and distributing grants of between €40,000 and €100,000 (based on funds raised) which will be announced to three charities this Summer.
The Community Foundation for Ireland was set up in 2000 and is expert in grantmaking and investing in people and solutions to build stronger communities. CFI has made grants on behalf of donors of over €30m in Ireland and overseas; almost €6m in 2016 alone.
