We are a charitable organisation and one of Ireland’s largest philanthropic organisations. As part of a global network of 1800 community foundations, we empower people and organisations who want to make a difference through a model of philanthropy based on trust, effectiveness and impact.
We operate within a sustainable model whereby we do not seek state support or other funding to support the cost of running our organisation.
As a charitable organisation in its own right, we are non-profit making and set our fees on the basis of cost recovery.
We keep our costs as low as possible and information on our running costs is available in our financial statements. Our salaries are disclosed in our audited accounts.
Fees provide the necessary resources to operate efficiently and effectively, ensuring fiscal responsibility in grant due diligence, donor care, research and other activities.
Our fees are based on the scale of the fund and the level of grant activity, with all donors sharing the cost of running The Community Foundation for Ireland. There are no set up charges or hidden fees and all fees are agreed in advance between both parties.
The standard fee for an endowed fund is 1% of the market value of the fund per annum and the fee for flow through (current) funds is usually a once off percentage fee paid at the time of donation.
