26 July 2010Legacy Promotion Ireland invites you to its next event, a presentation on legacy giving by US expert, Dr. Russell James. Hosted by The Community Foundation for Ireland. This event will be of interest to charity fundraisers and solicitors working in probate / estate planning.

Legacy giving expert, Dr Russell James research on charitable giving and legacy giving has been published in a variety of academic journals in fields such as economics, sociology, and public administration and he is currently listed as the most frequently published author on the topic of charitable giving in ISI ranked academic journals in the last five years.
Dr. James received his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri School of Law where he was received an award for the most outstanding work in gift and estate taxation and planning. He also earned his Ph.D. in Consumer & Family Economics from the University of Missouri where his dissertation was on religious charitable giving.
In addition to practicing law in the area of gift and estate planning, Dr. James also worked for six years as the Director of Planned Giving and for five years as college president at a small residential college in the U.S. His research on legacy giving has been funded by a variety of organizations including The Association of Fundraising Professionals Research Council, The University of Georgia Research Foundation, and The University of Indiana’s Center on Philanthropy. He has presented his research findings at conferences and invited presentations across the U.S. and Europe.
